Distinguishing Features:

Personality:
She can behave much the same as a child would; interested in everything, often times changing subject or point of interest at whim. Her main goals in life are to acquire food and mate. If one of those things is achieved she will move onto the next...but as she often doesn't get to eat as often as before she’s usually hunting. For that reason she is extremely social, asking questions and acquiring entire profiles on people she takes an interest in. So she can hunt them. Maybe. Possibly. Either that or they become friends. c:
She is extremely territorial when it comes to her friends/acquaintances/her own body, and does not appreciate outsiders. Strangers are scary, as more often than not, they're food. And food does not socialize with friends. A lot of the time she will bite off more than she can chew for the sake of showing her dominance. Her morals are shaky at best; she has no knowledge of most normal ‘human’ things such as romantic relationships, why you're not supposed to murder and eat those around you, personal space, etc. She will hold a grudge if given a reason for months at a time until the object of her aggression is killed or apologizes. Good luck with that.

Abilities:
- Can crush bones with enough force from her pincers, as well as hold and lock prey/people in place.
- Super bitey teeth. The feelers within her mouth are used to funnel in food if needed, as well as clean her mouth if things get too...messy.
- She hisses when she’s mad!
- Her antennae are very sensitive to electrical signals, so she can sense people approaching as well as anything else that fits the bill.

History:
Ensi grew up in Indonesia, often living off and on on populated islands and others less so. Her parents were environmental biologists, and as such their daughter was always welcome to accompany them. With somewhat sparse education and a great knowledge of plants and animals, her life was normal up until she turned 14.
On a routine walk around the surrounding areas of their camp she spotted an orchid mantis, a pale pink and white insect blending in with the foliage around it. Fascinated she approached, holding out her hand for it to climb onto. Instead, she felt a sharp pinch and a sudden lack of mantis as the creature fled, leaving her rather confused. Returning to camp the symptoms did not arise until a few weeks later.
Two large, hard bumps appeared underneath her shoulder blades, as well as protrusions in her mouth. Her eyesight began to change as well, becoming sharper and more sensitive to changes in light. Before long their once very normal daughter had small pincers protruding from her back. Fearing for her safety they tried to keep her hidden away, but after a few days her hunger began to spike. The rations were no longer enough...neither were the fish, the birds, the frogs, the small mammals that came next. After she tried to eat her father in his sleep they drew the line, sending her to the hospital in the hopes that whatever strange disease she had would be cured.
Quite the opposite happened. Her case was one of the first in that area, and as such the hospital staff were loathe to give her over so easily. Why, the police didn't need to know about this case just yet.
The staff experimented on her for the next four years, running down the list of tests they could force upon her until they decided to make up their own. Her pincers were examined, cracked, examined again as they healed, she was forced to fight, made to endure high voltage shocks, starvation, etc. After awhile she forgot why she was there in the first place, and her name. All she heard on a daily basis were the names Hymenopus coronatus (her species of orchid mantis), as well as the flower her coloration had come to resemble, Phalaenopsis philippinensis.
She remembered these names when she escaped the hospital, fleeing into the nearby jungle and living off of its animals for a time before she was caught. When asked her name she thought of the only thing that came to mind, shortening it to make ‘Ensi’.
Life on the island for her isn't too bad. In fact, she rather enjoys it. It has all of the perks of her home with an added food supply, as well as a lack of men in coats who wish to hurt her. She doesn't quite know she why was sent there, only understanding that she was different from others, and therefore not good? Whatever that meant.

- She doesn't have any PTSDs per say from her stay in the hospital, just a very deep set grudge with those who resemble doctors/scientists. She hates medical equipment and will destroy it on sight.
